Charitable Donations

Many thanks to those parents (27 families in total) who took the time to complete the Revenue form in respect of the General Maintenance contribution. We hope to receive a sizable cheque from the Revenue Commissioners which will go towards school maintenance. We will be repeating this exercise in the new term and I would appeal to all those who have more than one child in the school (thereby contributing the required minimum of €250/annum), to complete the form when it is sent out with school bills and return it to us.

Active Week

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Active Week. As last year all the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the week, particularly the new events that were introduced.

Rathmichael Parish and School Fete – Saturday 5th September

A flyer for the Fete will be sent home before the end of term. The Committee is looking for people to help on various stalls – if you can help at all please contact Trish in the Office and she will pass your name/details on to the Committee. Alternatively fill in the notice on the Board or contact Louise Knatchbull of Sam Brigg. I have also been requested to ask you to keep any of your best clothes, shoes etc for the Fete as your donations are always needed. Please place any other unwanted but wearable items in the container. If anyone has unwanted but unbroken toys for the Fete, please leave these in the front hall.

End of Term Reports

These reports were issued on 18th June in line with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) template.

Presentations to Pupils

The Character Cup for the 5th Class pupil who has over the course of the year been caring and helpful towards both teacher and fellow pupils was awarded to Eibhlin Kelly-Lyth. The Wise Owl Trophy, awarded to a pupil in 3rd Class who has been enthusiastic and willing, was presented to Poppy Duncan. These children display those qualities that we in Rathmichael try and instill in our pupils – good behaviour, positive attitude and courtesy, so congratulations to the two of them. The Hazel Crawford Environmental Trophy which is presented to a 4th Class pupil for his/her commitment, interest and involvement in the environment has this year been awarded to Christopher Knatchbull – well done Christopher.

Payment of Schools Bills

I would ask all those with outstanding Summer Term bills to settle these at the earliest opportunity as we approach the end of term. I am always available to speak with anyone who may have difficulty in payment, in the strictest confidence.

June Handwriting Competition

Well done to all the children for making such a huge effort with their handwriting. In particular congratulations to our winners and most improved:

Anyone wishing to order uniforms for next year may do so through Trish in the Office. However at this stage there is no guarantee that the items requested will be supplied by the end of term.

Mobile Phones

Please could you make one last effort to bring in your old mobile phones before the end of term. Please ask friends and relations if they have phones that they would donate also.

Lost Property

I have laid out lost property items on the concourse floor, including many school jumpers. Please check through this before the end of term.

Past pupils are always welcome to re-visit the school. However we request that they do not come to school on the last day of term please.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and to wish you all a wonderful Summer. I would also like to wish 6th Class pupils all the very best as they leave us to start secondary school. I hope that they depart with happy memories of their time in Rathmichael.
