February 2017

An adult Quiz was held in Shankill Tennis Club which was enjoyed by all. Frank O Neill tested our strengths with a very interesting quiz. It was well attended. Many thanks to all the traders who sponsored the event, especially with prizes for our raffle. These were very gratefully received.

Rory Golden came on his annual visit to the school to speak about the Titanic. This is a subject that 4th Class learn about in some depth. Rory, having been down to the Titanic, was able to tell about his experience first hand. It is always a very interesting talk.

Our infant classes are involved in Aistear which means journey in Irish. They learn through play and activity. This helps increase their vocabulary. Each week they pick a new theme and through, colouring, role play, lego, construction and other activities they learn. Photographs are from the themes ‘Families’ (Sn. Infs.) and learning about their bodies (Jn. Infs).

Junior Infants entered a Christmas Tree made from recycled materials into a competition held at Airfield. They won First prize and a trip to Airfield for the class. Well done Junior Infants and Ms. Fox!!
