May 2021
Restrictions are lifting but schools still are social distancing and cannot sing indoors. Birthdays are hummed over the PA system. Music takes place outside. No events with parents can be held which is unfortunate for the 6th Class leaving. However, videos are being sent to families for Open Day and End of Year. Sports Day will be live streamed for the parents and can be watched with the children in the evening.
We have caterpillars transforming into butterflies at present and this has been very interesting to watch. The whole process takes a few weeks and it was fascinating to see tiny caterpillars become fat caterpillars, chrysalis and now butterflies. So much better than reading it in a book.
Cycling started for 6th class also which is outdoors on the pitch. This is great fun for the children and teaches them safety on our roads before they leave for Secondary School.
Raised beds have been planted by 1st Class and we wait to see what appears.
The summer looks brighter for everyone. Roll on the vaccines and some sense of normality.
