Thank you for the wonderful welcome you and your children have so kindly given to me. Thank you to your children for the patience they have shown me as I learn their names. This is a wonderful school with a special community. I look forward to our next chapter and am honoured and privileged to be part of it.

School Notes and Other Items to note:
Shankill Tidy Towns Clear Up
We have been asked by the Tidy Towns Committee to remind Shankill residents that this Saturday 10th May is the Big Clean Up Day. (See attached).
Meeting at 2pm at the Garda Station and at the entrance to Cherrington/Quinns Road Roundabout. There will be jobs for everyone – young, old and in betweeners. Just go along for an hour or two – it’ll make a huge difference and many hands make light work.
If you could get a few neighbours together to work on your area – just let the Tidy Towns Committee know and they will be happy to help and provide tools.
Please help to clean up Shankill and meet up with neighbours, friends old and new.
Bike Week – 13th to 21st May – children should be encouraged to cycle to school – teachers have received resources and a video link for bike safety. Please ensure that your child wears a helmet at all times on their bikes.
Reminders:
Wednesday 10th May is the day to bring bags of clothing into school for the Liberty Recycling Collection – PTA members will be in the car park between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 on that day to take them from you. The gates will be left open for this purpose. If you have a problem bringing your filled bags in on this day, please email school.
Friday 2nd June is a half day to facilitate staff inservice training. School will close at 12.30 (Infants at 12.25). There will be swimming for 3rd and 6th as usual but no tennis for 6th on that day.
Monday 5th June – School is closed for one day only for the Bank Holiday.
